Exec Result Growth

A manifesto for leaders who build, not manage

Executive Leadership Training grounded in five non-negotiable principles

We train senior leaders to make harder decisions faster, to hold productive tension in their teams, and to leave behind the comfort of consensus-driven mediocrity. Every programme we run begins with these principles.

"After two decades of board-level roles, this was the first training that made me genuinely uncomfortable in the right way. The discomfort produced clarity I hadn't reached in years."
— Rhona Galbraith, COO, Vantage Industrial Group, Belfast

The five principles we will not compromise on

1. Discomfort before growth

Comfortable leaders plateau. Our sessions deliberately surface the blind spots, assumptions, and habits that keep experienced executives repeating what worked five years ago. We use live scenario pressure, not slide decks.

2. Decisions, not discussions

Every module ends with a real decision the participant must make about their own team, budget, or strategy. There is no theoretical homework. Participants leave each day having committed to a specific action with a deadline attached.

3. Tension is a resource

Most leadership courses teach conflict resolution. We teach conflict design. Healthy disagreement between competent people produces better outcomes than polite alignment. We show leaders how to engineer and hold productive tension.

4. Measure the shift, not the smile

Post-session satisfaction scores tell you whether the catering was good. We track behavioural change at 30, 60, and 90 days through structured peer observations and direct reports' feedback. If nothing changes, we failed.

5. The leader is the culture

Culture change programmes that bypass the senior team are theatre. We work with the people whose daily behaviour sets the tone. When they shift, the organisation follows. When they don't, nothing else matters.

Programme framework

We don't sell off-the-shelf courses. Each engagement is assembled from six capability modules, configured to the participant group's seniority, sector, and the specific organisational challenge they face.

Capability modules

  • Strategic clarity under ambiguity
  • High-stakes stakeholder negotiation
  • Team design and role architecture
  • Decision velocity and accountability
  • Narrative leadership and influence
  • Succession readiness and talent shaping

Where the principles showed up in practice

Manufacturing turnaround

A 400-person manufacturing firm in Antrim ran our intensive residential for its top eight leaders. Within 90 days, the leadership team had restructured two underperforming divisions and reduced decision cycle time from 14 days to three. Staff engagement scores in those divisions rose 22 points in the following quarter.

NHS trust leadership reset

We facilitated a board-level programme for a regional NHS trust facing sustained staff attrition. Over six months of monthly sprints, the trust redesigned its clinical leadership pipeline and introduced structured tension sessions for cross-departmental planning. Attrition in the target group dropped by a third within the year.

A note on what we refuse to do

We will not run a programme where the CEO or managing director is absent. If the most senior person in the room treats leadership training as something for other people, the signal to the rest of the team is unmistakable. We have turned down engagements over this. It is not stubbornness; it is the only honest position we can hold.

We also refuse to deliver content-heavy slide presentations. Adults with twenty years of professional experience do not learn by listening to someone narrate bullet points. Our sessions involve live decision simulations, peer challenge rounds, and structured reflection. The ratio of facilitator talking to participant working is roughly one to four.

There are no certificates. A framed certificate on a wall tells you someone attended something. We are interested in whether a leader's direct reports notice a difference in the weeks after the programme. That is the only credential that matters.

We do not promise transformation. That word has been hollowed out by overuse. What we promise is that participants will leave with specific, uncomfortable commitments they have made in front of peers, and a structure for being held to those commitments over the following quarter.

"The fit-check conversation alone was worth an hour of my time. They asked questions about our leadership team that no other provider had thought to raise."
— Declan Harkin, Group MD, Harkin & Lowe Holdings
